HOMESCHOOL ALERT!  May 08, 2007: Call the SC House of Rep. and tell them no to House Bill 3941 for the following reasons: 1: SC ST SEC 59-6545 and 47 specifically exempts the home school from the further requirements of Section 59-65-40! 2: Home school students do not operate off of ANY PUBLIC funds!  3: No "Private school or Religious school provide any personal information about their students to any school district! 4:There is no purpose for private information of home school students that any "PUBLIC FUNDED" school has any reason to use except to harass law abiding home school families by DSS and Public school officials or for public school officials or to use the private information to collect funds they are not entitled to. (Well documented evidence to support this statement. see: public funds )

Portfolio

What types of portfolios are there

The starter portfolio should contain the following:

  • A copy of the parent or legal guardians High School Diploma or GED 
  • Attendance Record (Click here for our free, printable, attendance form)
  • Grades K-6 should have a section in the portfolio labeled with the following subjects: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social studies.  This can be done with dividers.
  • Grades 7-12 should have a section in the portfolio labeled with the following subjects: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social studies, composition and literature.
    This can be done with dividers.
  • A plan book, diary, or other record (Click for our free, printable, 1st semester planner and the 2nd semester planner) indicating subjects taught and activities in which the student and parent-teacher engage.
  • Place samples of the student's academic work in the section of the portfolio labeled with the following subjects: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social studies, and in (Grades 7-12) composition and literature.
  • A semiannual progress report (Click here for our free, printable,  semiannual progress report) including attendance records and individualized documentation of the student's academic progress in each of the basic instructional areas of Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social studies, and in (Grades 7-12) composition and literature.
  • A copy of your End of the Year Statement of Compliance form, (Click here for our End of the Year Statement of Compliance form.) which you have sent into your association; 
  • Always make a copy of all association applications and paperwork, which you may have, and place the copies in the portfolio as well. 
  • You may add anything else to your portfolio.  The above information and forms are all you need in your portfolio.
